SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Overview of the SDGs/CE Partnership Research Institute

In the past, the Japanese manufacturing industry was primarily based on the business model of merely selling end products to the market and on the 3R tactics (reduce, reuse, and recycle) for to follow up on waste disposal. In “SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Goal 12: Producer and consumer responsibility”, the target social issues of “12.3: Food loss reduction” and “12.5: Waste reduction” are related to circular economy (CE) among the many targets which should be resolved on a global scale by 2030.
